Space Needle Reimaged

The current needle at Seattle Center is a boring appendage to a bygone era, much like the primitive monorail.
The needle will be scrapped and a new one rising 500-800 meters (1640-2600 feet) will offer up multiple viewing boxes, all free to the public unlike the current class system where high paying diners enjoy a turning restaurant and unwashed masses pay a ransom for the privalage of seeing a much lower and narrower viewpoint.

Only during peak times will a modest nominal fee, say 2 dollars be charged such as between 6-9 am and 3-7 pm on week days to cover costs of maintanance, otherwise it will be strictly free with a first come first served arrangement.
Every person entering can be required to pickup a RFID tag they carry with them that signals at the 8 or 9 minute mark that their time is up, letting the next lot of people enjoy the scenary.

Colorful transparent elavators will rapidly ascend and descend on the outside of the structure.

The top will be a turning viewpoint for everyone on several levels, providing sights to 1500+ at a time.
